This standard applies to formula foods for use in very low energy diets for weight reduction as defined in Section 3. These foods are defined as foods for special medical purposes and must be used under medical supervision by individuals with moderate or severe obesity. It does not apply to prepackaged meals presented in the form of conventional foods.
